‘I Love Lucy’ hysterical ‘Vitameatavegamin’ commercial

‘I Love Lucy’ is one of the biggest TV shows in American history. It was the most-watched show in the U.S. for four of its six seasons, running from 1951 through 1957. The show starred Lucille Ball and her husband, Desi Arnaz.

In her iconic clip, Lucy is finally colorized as the ‘Vitameatavegamin’ spokesperson. She is wearing a black and white checkered shirt, and her bright red hair and blue eyes look lovely in this colorized version.

Lucy starts by asking the audience questions, and then she says, “The answer to all your problems is in this bittle little. I mean this little bottle!” She shakes her head in frustration with herself and keeps going.

Her eyes widen, and she talks very slowly, pronouncing extra syllables as the crowd laughs. “Uh, yes, with Vitameatavegamin, you can spoon your way to hell,” says Lucy while holding the product bottle in her hand.

She tells them they should take a spoonful after every meal, and she demonstrates. Lucy says it’s tasty too, and she looks around in shock and says it tastes like candy.

She starts to act drunker than before and ends the commercial while mumbling the words. Lucy tries to wink about five times and smiles while she sways unbalanced.

The clip from the episode ‘Lucy Does a TV Commercial’ is considered one of the most famous from the show. It was watched by 68% of the TV viewing audience at the time. This is the perfect example of Lucille’s fantastic talent, and she has the audience laughing the whole time.
