In China, when the military officer retired, the military dog refused to let the dog trainer quit. This was an exciting time.
The dog is seen chasing after the soldier and wrapping its arms around him, as if trying to deter him from walking out of the barracks.
Da Mao, a three-year-old golden retriever, and his owner, Jia Chuan, had been inseparable after working side by side for the past two years, according to state media.
According to state broadcaster CCTV, Mr Jia was set to retire recently after serving in the Chinese army for eight years.
As he prepared to leave the base, the officer said a tearful goodbye to Da Mao, his first search and rescue dog. After working side by side for the past two years, Mr Jia and his four-legged partner formed a close bond and became best friends.
In the video, you can see that the officer stroked Da Mao for the last time, then gave Da Mao to his colleague and walked away.
However, the dog appeared to be attempting to prevent its trainer from leaving as it rushed towards the man after breaking free from the leash.
Da Mao then leapt into Mr Jia’s embrace, wrapping its paws around him and refusing to let go of the officer.
The touching moment, which was captured at an undisclosed venue, touched many people’s hearts after it was shared online. ‘This is making me cry,’ one commenter said. ‘Can they give the officer the dog?’
‘The cute dog knows everything!’ wrote another viewer. ‘Warmest regards to the veteran.’
Another tearful farewell was caught at a barracks in Xinjiang, western China, where a sniffer dog named Bei Bei had a difficult time watching its trainer retire.
In the August video, the German shepherd can be seen with its mouth gripping the officer’s duffel bag and refusing to let go.
After the trainer waved goodbye to his best partner, the hound tried to prevent the door from closing and continued to chase the moving vehicle.
