I Rented Out an Apartment to My Husbands Mistress, and Their Next Date There Was Unforgettable

Mila’s life wasn’t perfect, but it was good. As a successful real estate agent, she had built the life she’d always dreamed of. Yet, something wasn’t right. Lately, her husband, Richard, had grown distant. The man who once made her laugh and feel cherished now seemed like a stranger.

His warmth had turned to cold indifference, and it felt like their marriage was unraveling. Mila tried to ignore it, but deep down, she knew their relationship was heading for trouble.

One morning, everything began to change. The day started like any other. Mila was in the kitchen, humming softly as she prepared breakfast. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and the sound of sizzling eggs gave the room a cozy feeling. She arranged the plates carefully, hoping to create a moment of connection.

When Richard walked in, she greeted him with a warm smile. “Good morning! I was thinking, maybe we could visit the new art gallery downtown this weekend. What do you think?” she asked, her voice full of hope.

Richard didn’t even look up from his phone. He let out a dismissive grunt. “We’ll see,” he muttered, his eyes glued to the screen.

Mila’s heart sank. This had become their routine. She would try to reach out, and he would pull further away. As she poured herself another cup of coffee, her eyes caught a glimpse of Richard’s phone lighting up on the counter.

The name “Carol” appeared, accompanied by a photo of a woman Mila didn’t recognize.

A cold knot formed in her stomach. Forcing her voice to stay calm, she asked, “Who’s Carol?”

Richard barely glanced at her. “Oh, she’s a business colleague. We’ve got a meeting out of town this weekend. I’ll be back Monday,” he replied casually, as if it were no big deal.

Mila’s unease deepened, but she smiled and nodded. “Alright, have a safe trip,” she said, leaning in to kiss his cheek. He grabbed his keys and left without another word.

As the door closed, Mila stood in the quiet kitchen, her mind racing. Something about this didn’t feel right. The name “Carol” echoed in her head, and a sense of dread settled over her.

Determined not to let her worries consume her, Mila threw herself into her work. That afternoon, she had an appointment with a potential client who was looking to rent a luxury apartment for the weekend. It was a welcome distraction—or so she thought.

When the client arrived, Mila’s breath caught in her throat. Standing before her was the woman from Richard’s phone—Carol.

Mila’s heart pounded, but she forced herself to stay composed. “Hi, I’m Mila. It’s nice to meet you,” she said, extending her hand with a professional smile.

Carol shook her hand warmly. “Nice to meet you too! This place looks amazing. I’m planning a romantic weekend with someone special,” she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Mila’s stomach churned. She knew now that Richard had lied to her. This wasn’t a business trip; it was a secret getaway. And she was the one unknowingly setting it up.

Swallowing her emotions, Mila handed over the keys and concluded the meeting. But as Carol left, Mila discreetly kept a spare key for herself. Her mind was made up. She wasn’t going to let this betrayal go unanswered.

That evening, Mila called Richard. “Hey, are you coming home tonight?” she asked sweetly, masking her anger.

“No,” he replied curtly. “I’m already on my way out of town. I’ll see you Monday.”

Mila’s grip tightened on the phone. His lie confirmed everything. Instead of breaking down, she took a deep breath and made another call. “Meet me at the apartment at 8 p.m. Everything’s set,” she said, her voice steady and resolute.

At 8 p.m., Mila arrived at the luxury apartment, this time with Carol’s boyfriend in tow. His expression was stormy, his jaw set in anger. They entered quietly using the spare key, their footsteps soft as they approached the bedroom.

Inside, Richard and Carol were laughing together, completely unaware of what was coming. The sound of their laughter stopped abruptly when the door swung open.

“What the hell is this?” Carol’s boyfriend bellowed, his voice shaking the walls. Carol bolted upright, her face pale with shock. Richard scrambled out of bed, his excuses tumbling out incoherently. “Mila, I didn’t mean for this to happen! Please, let me explain!” he pleaded.

Mila held up a hand, silencing him. Her voice was cold and steady. “Remember that marriage contract you insisted on? The one that guarantees me everything if you cheat? Consider it signed.”

Carol’s boyfriend turned to her, his voice dripping with disgust. “You’re pathetic,” he spat before storming out, leaving Carol frozen in shame.

Richard fell to his knees, begging Mila to forgive him. But she didn’t need to hear any more. Without another word, she turned and walked out, her head held high.

The crisp night air greeted her as she stepped outside. For the first time in years, Mila felt a sense of clarity and freedom. She wasn’t broken; she was stronger than ever. She had faced betrayal head-on and emerged victorious.

That night, Mila slept soundly, knowing she had taken control of her story. Her future was hers to shape, and she was ready to embrace it.
