75,000 Germans Singing ‘Country Roads’ By John Denver
The NFL played its first regular season game in Germany this past weekend. 75,000 fans watched the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeat the Seattle Seahawks in Munich.
While the game had many great moments, this one stood out to me.
Seeing an entire stadium in Germany singing about country roads in West Virginia makes me cringe. Music transcends language.
“Country roads, take me home, to a place where I belong. West Virginia . . .”
